Layer Methodology
Flood Risk
Montreal floodplain context is live for resilience screening.
LiveStudy areas
Map Role
Flood-prone areas for resilience planning and site risk screening.
What It Shows
This layer publishes Montreal's floodplain index polygons so resilience and stormwater interventions can be screened against flood-sensitive edges at planning scale.
Sources
- Montreal Open Data Index des plaines inondables
- Federal and CanVec fallbacks remain configured in ETL for future city expansion
Method
- 1.Download Montreal's published floodplain index GeoJSON.
- 2.Normalize study metadata and floodplain labels into a shared GeoJSON schema.
- 3.Publish the result as a bundled frontend asset for overlay use.
Refresh Cadence
Snapshot asset. Refresh when the Montreal source changes or the ETL is rerun.
Coverage
Montreal only in the current public deploy.
Caveats
- It should be read as contextual planning support, not a legal or engineering flood designation.
- Other study areas still need source-specific publication before they can be marked live.
