Live land-cover context for vegetation, bare surfaces, and built cover.

What It Shows

This layer brings in a national land-cover product so the map can be read against broad vegetation and surface classes, even outside the study-area overlays.

  • Natural Resources Canada land-cover WMS

Method

  1. 1.Request official land-cover tiles directly from the upstream WMS.
  2. 2.Render the tiles as a semi-transparent raster overlay for contextual reading.

Refresh Cadence

Live service. Visual output updates when the upstream land-cover service changes.

Coverage

National coverage where the NRCan service publishes land-cover tiles.

Caveats

  • This is a contextual raster layer, not parcel-accurate local land use.
  • The source reflects the upstream national product vintage, not real-time conditions.
